The snake is wise, introspective and intuitive with a propensity to sense and feel their way through life. Snakes pay close attention to their surroundings, and are skilled at spotting and acting on new opportunities as they arise. They tend to keep to themselves and are well-mannered, but will not hesitate to attack if disturbed. Snakes make influential and insightful people and are often found to be great thinkers, diplomats, managers, or in creative pursuits.
Forecasts for the Year of the Water Snake
In chinese astrology the large 60 year cycles (which contain the smaller 12 year cycles) are profoundly important. Although each animal repeats every 12 years, the exact animal-element combination only occurs every 60 years. The elements include earth, air, water, fire, wood. The last year of water- snake combination was 1953.
I’ve researched some chinese astologers and found that forecasts for this year are mixed and dynamic. Since the snake is inherently a fire animal (each animal has their own inherent element) and yet this is the year of the water snake, it proposes a juxtaposition of opposites. This can be postive as it provides an opportunity for change, growth, creativity and new ways of thinking. However it can also present challenges and conflict as change often does. Like a water snake sheltering under water, this year is a good time to restore your vital resources and regain balance. Inner growth, deep thinking and deep feeling all come naturally in the year of the water snake.
